Thankyou to all those out there who signed, living in Africa I can tell you first-hand how amazing and beautiful these animals are!
I signed the petition a while ago and yesterday Thailand announced that the trade of Ivory will be illegal as well as the fact that the petition included 1.4 million signatures.
Well done and thankyou for raising the awareness for such an important cause! xx
I love the more personal spin you put on this by using one of your OCs. It's really pretty and I love your art style. I actually have a pillbox made of ivory-my grandfather found it ages ago and gifted it to me; it's nearly two hundred years old and gorgeous, so I can see the desire for ivory, but not at the cost of killing an animal solely for the tusks and not using as much of the animal as possible.
It is just terribly sad how powerful animals like these find the misfortune of crossing their paths with us humans... we already pushed way too many species to extinction! Such a magnificent creature... killed just to satisfy a selfish and unnecessary greedy need? Hell no that's not right, next thing you know the only places where elephants will be seen are in facilities that breed them so they don't become completely extinct, like good-hearted people are doing with pandas and tigers and who knows how many other animals...
